Diego Estrada Bernuy is a Peruvian-American filmmaker whose work moves through the themes of identity, migration, and belonging. Born in Lima, Peru and raised in Aurora, Colorado, his work reflects the tension and beauty of living between worlds. Diego is currently based out of Denver, CO where he crafts visual stories with Degotelo Studios for brands and institutions including Frontier Airlines, the Denver Art Museum, ACLU of Colorado, and the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition. Diego was named a 2022 CineFe Fellow, continuing his pursuit of stories that bridge cultures and reimagine belonging. Most recently, he received the incredible support from the inaugural 2025 Firelight Fund for his upcoming feature documentary, The Weight of a Dream. In his free time, Diego enjoys cooking Peruvian food, playing volleyball, and running.
